Mixr Media has made tremendous amounts of changes in not only the design but the applications. It features a sleek new look in addition to 2 new sites (4 more to be released) Jetdrop and Ziggytek, more applications blog and social news so far (forums, wiki and community soon to come!) and new profile features in addition to all the other application features!

Even thought it is constantly going through major changes and upgrades, I am proud to say Mixr Media is on its way! Sign up and check it out!

Red Eight and the Future

October 27th, 2007 in Work

Few weeks have passed by since my last post, and not much has changed since then. I have yet to hear back from a few clients and have been pending on another. However, last night was also another Red Eight Event.

This event focused on women entrepreneurs in the NYC area. The event turned out to be the most successful one yet. Held at a Commerce Bank, the evening featured 3 women presenters (Gloria Lee of MEI Image Consulting, Elizabeth Kressel of Collector’s Quest and Kara Paik of instant NEW YORKER) and infamous keynote speaker, Julia Azuma. The event was enjoyable and had a great turn out while yours truly was one of the photographers. Here’s a few photos.

Being the photographer at these events has made me realize how much I would like to become a better photographer. My skills are limited due to my lack of knowledge about the camera. So let’s hope by the next event in December that I am a better photographer.

Also in recent news, I’ve been putting to thought whether or not I would like to start a blog. I’ve been reading tips on Problogger.com and this website goes into great detail about what it takes to be a blogger, what’s a good blog and the many variables involved. I haven’t decided yet whether or not I wanted to fully commit to something so time consuming; however, I will reach a decision after my research is done.

Till next time…

Mixr Media

July 25th, 2007 in Work

Mixr Media is a company that I have worked for many times and still continued to work for today. By doing so, my skills as a designer and grown and matured from 6 months ago when I had first started working on their Asian media exchange site, Ningin.com. From then, I continued to work side by side with the founder, Hoc Poeng, in the creation of various projects from banners, icons and css coding. Although worlds apart at the time (myself in Korea and Hoc in NY) , I was able to gain work and client experience while in high school.

Now graduated, I continue to work for Mixr Media. My most recent project is the up incoming websites created and hosted by Mixr Media. These various sites focus on different interests from cars, technology, Asian media, design, fashion and much more. While still in the process of creating the actual site, I was asked to create splash backgrounds.

At first the project was just 3 unique free-for-all backgrounds, created at random with no special theme. However after finishing 2, Hoc asked me to use the theme of time. The idea popped into his head after seeing the first 2 which resembled evening and day.

Making a few minor changes to each of them, I continued with the final background: morning. Throughout each of design, I used various elements provided by designers on iStock and the famous brush creator, Magurno. There is one more background, but it was created by Hoc Poeng and features night. Check out my deviantart to view at full size:deviantart.

Each of these are featured on all the up incoming sites: Fineweek, Fuchita, Jetdrop, Ziggytek, Stylelot, Zinglish, Keilia and Okeh. Depending on which time you check will correspond to which background you’ll see.

Aside from the backgrounds, I’ve also been working on the redesign layout for all the sites including Ningin. Be sure to sign up and check out all the sites or join the mailing list.

Also, I’ll be working on a redesign for Aikyrie some time soon!
