Chris Cedana - Singer and Songwriter

May 15th, 2008 in Entertainment

If you didn’t know, I’ve been working for Mixr Media, LLC for a little over a year now and one of their sites, is Ningin which has always been a constant source of media for me. Recently on the forums, I discovered a youtuber by the username ccendana.

His real name is Chris Cendana, a Filipino American singer and songwriter who is inspired by musicians like John Mayer, Musiq Soulchild, and Jason Mraz. Jumping into music at the age of 5, he made renditions of songs he heard from his family on the piano. At age 10, he picked up percussion, his true passion, and continued to play at age 20. In between at age 13, he learned “turntablism”, a skill he picked up from his older brother, and became locally well known for his unique style. Finally at age 20, he learned guitar and plays in his spare time. He is located in Morgantown, West Virigina and plays at local venues like Black Bear and Blue Moose Cafe.

Some of my favorite songs from him are “Till the Lights Burn Out” and “No Diggity Funktafied“. You can purchase these songs from his Soundclick account. I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone.

PS I can’t believe he’s not signed yet. HAHA

Sweet cakes

May 13th, 2008 in Random

I miss Korea a lot lately. Here’s a picture of Baskin Robin cakes. They looks so good especially compared to American cakes. There’s so many great things about Korea I kind of wish I never left. Not that my life here is bad…just that I enjoyed what Korea had to offer a lot more. Or maybe I just miss the random cravings and being able to satisfy them on the spot in addition to everything being 10298340293x cheaper. HAHA

I really regret not taking advantage of living there. There were so many things that I had available to me that I want/need now that I didn’t appreciate it then. Like the clothing style is a lot of what I wear now, the incredible food :B, cheap art supplies, being able to get around by WALKING or cheap transportation, and so many other things! I guess its really true that you don’t know what you have til its gone.

In other news, I haven’t quite decide which direction I want to take with the design just yet. Haha I’m indecisive! But for now this will have to do. What do you guys think?

Child Labor Is Good Sometimes

May 12th, 2008 in Random

A lot of things to fix. <3 And I just upgraded (long over dued) wordpress to the most recent version. Woohoo! Took long enough because my smartFTP kept crashing.

This photo is a picture of my Korean students that I taught english to while I was in Korea. They were so adorable. On weekends I would take them on the army base to hang out. This Saturday, there was a bake sale for my soccer team and the boy wanted to wear the sign around. Lawl. So cute. I kind of miss them but then again they were a pain in the butt!

Upgrading to 4.0

May 11th, 2008 in Announcement

I’m redoing the design if you couldn’t tell haha :P Its a definite work in progress but right now I just don’t have as much time on my hands to do something spectacular! :( Sorry kiddos. But I feel that right now I want to explore what I really want this site to be about. It’s a year old~! Woohoo! And I haven’t done much with it. How sad.

But that’s okay because I’m starting to get some more time on my hands and becoming more motivated to do things with my spare time instead of other things like playing games or sleeping :P I really miss doing a lot of things I use to do that I just don’t have time to do now! Like creating blends, vectoring, drawing, photography, SO MANY THINGS.

Not that I’m complaining. I really enjoy working at Mixr Media and I’ve learned a lot of new things. Its been about a year since I’ve touched the Aikyrie design and WOW there’s a big difference in skill level. Haha I was such a bad coder before but now I’ve definitely developed and am much more cleaner.

BUT I’m still not done with this site. :P After doing an entire network wide redesign for Mixr Media, I’m a little tuckered out. So please be patient. I would love to hear your feedback on what you think so far.

On a side note, my unique visits has raised in the past few months. I guess that’s a good sign.
